Monsoon togetherness
What do celebrity couples do when it rains?
The rainy season is a great time to bring some romance into a relationship. Shilpi Madan spoke to six celeb couples about how they celebrate when it pours, and this is what they had to say:
Maria Goretti and Arshad Warsi
Actors
We'll have breakfast on our terrace and watch the rain. Then Arshad will whip up biryani for all of us, including our two-year-old Zeke Zidaan. If the baby's asleep, then a light, fun movie it is. We'll spend the afternoon lazing together, have hot chai and then zip off, the three of us, on Arshad's Yamaha Trackstar for a spin in the rain. We are all bike freaks and nothing can beat a powered bike ride when it’s pouring. Then it’s dinner at the Marriott -- I love the place.
Manasi and Craig Scott
Singer and model
Craig's a super chef, so he'll make some hot samosas and I'll make some hot chocolate. We then stick our legs out of the tall bay windows in our living room and feel the rain. Divine. Then it’s time for movies -- action flicks, soppy romantic movies -- pizzas and biryani, and ice cream from Baskin Robbins. We'll cuddle up, get cosy and snuggle. That's the idea!
Shweta Kawatra and Manav Gohil
TV actors
We want to be anywhere but in Mumbai -- especially after 26 July last year! The moment it begins to pour, we are heading for Matheran. I’m looking forward to relishing the smell of wet soil and the lush hills. Or we might even take off for a few days to Amby Valley. It’s green and inviting and the perfect way to celebrate the monsoon!
Cyrus and Simeen Oshidar
Media man and painter
We’re planning to drive down to Goa -- first just the two of us, and later with the kids. Why Goa? Because we are planning to settle down there at some point in our lives. The place is absolutely gorgeous and calms the soul. And I have heard that the drive down to Goa needs to be experienced to be believed.
Dabboo and Manisha Ratnani
Photographer and home maker
Goa it is this season. I’m flying down for a shoot and taking Manisha with me. We will stay on after work gets over to make the most of the locale. Goa is beautiful during the rains, not crowded and always a great place to chill out, far from the madding crowd!
Sivamani and Krushali
Percussionist and spirited soul
Since I’m travelling most of the time, we’ll definitely make the most of a rainy day this season with some "us time". We are both movie buffs. So romantic comedies and action flicks will play on our life-size screen at home while we devour superb home-cooked South Indian food -- hot rasam and fish curry!
