Vighnasuar soon went out of control and went about destroying all Vedic practices. The Gods realized their folly and turned to their Lord Ganesha to help. He was at that time in Sage Parashar's ashram. The lord then took birth on earth as the son of Parshwaputra and his wife Deepvatsala. He then went on to vanquish the asura in a fierce battle.
